Monday Five: An Easter Table & Other Things I’m Excited About This Week

HAPPY EASTER! Such a happy day. And the best part is that here in the Catholic Church, we have an Easter octave…so the celebrations just keep going.

This weekend we finally got back to Charleston. It was so good to be home for a little while, but definitely too short of a trip! Stephen and I got to run on Pitt Street (one of my favorite things), we also went to a lovely piano recital at CofC, and of course, went to Mass at Stella Maris—the church where we got married.

So good. Now it has been a rude awakening back to reality as Stephen has a long day at work today and is sleeping on the boat tomorrow and Friday. I am still hoping to make the most of the Easter season, nevertheless.

SO. Here are the five things I’m most excited about this Easter week! Alleluia!

Your Blue Flame

I just started this book on Audible and I’m already loving it. I’ve definitely been on a Jen Fulwiler kick recently and it’s been super fun. This book is all about finding out what you’re passionate about and how that connects to your purpose. I think it’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day responsibilities and not pursue what truly brings you joy and fulfillment. Obviously those necessary chores, etc. are important—but they don’t have to be your whole life. I’m excited to see how Jen was able to go after her dreams while also living the #momlife of 6 little ones.

Mommy & Me

Something I was super excited about with having a baby girl was matching outfits!!! My mom and sister and I used to do that growing up and it was one of my favorite things. For Easter Stephen got me two mommy and me dress sets and I’m so excited. Pics to come!!! Also, if anyone has any mommy and me brands they like, let me know!

Easter Table

Yesterday afternoon we were invited to a lovely Easter luncheon by family friends. Their house was beautiful, but I was especially impressed by the AMAZING table setting. Name cards and everything. The attention to detail was perfect, and not something you see very much of these days. Everything today is almost always so casual, it was nice to have something a little extra for this joyful time of year.

Homemaker’s Litany

Recently I’ve been praying this litany from Theology of Home and it’s been such a source of peace for me. The average person probably doesn’t think about the challenges and temptations that homemakers face, whether they work outside the home or not! This prayer addresses some of those and asks for the necessary graces to handle them in a beautiful way.

Satire

This piece from Babylon Bee about Easter cracked me up. I love humor and satire can be so hilarious!

I hope you are celebrating your hardest.

Cheers,

Miranda
