A midweek breather

Hello and happy Wednesday!

We had a nice quiet weekend at home. For the past few weeks we’ve been doing a lot of traveling/having family visit so it was nice to have a couple days at home just the three of us.

I hope your weekend was a good one and that your week is going well 🙂

What’s been resonating with me lately:

  • all good things require effort (and time)
  • marriage and family life are incredible blessings
  • it’s OKAY not to click with everyone
  • we are all called to continual growth
  • there is beauty in a hidden life
  • the more we approach life with a ‘student’ mentality, the easier it will be to take correction with grace

Where I’ve been finding encouragement:

  • I listed another one of her episodes last week but this one from Fit Mom Life to the Fullest was just too good not to share. A good reminder that motherhood is work, and not meant to be enjoyable all the time.
  • I love Hallow’s daily guided rosary. Whenever I’m in the car or even at home folding laundry, I turn it on and it helps me keep my commitment of praying the rosary daily.
  • In that vein, reading Louis de Montfort’s The Secret of the Rosary (finished it today) has helped me a lot to renew my conviction regarding the importance praying the rosary.
  • Jen Fulwiler’s latest (I’m not going to apologize for referencing her every. week.) podcast episode had some *gold* about friendships (they just don’t need to be forced)

Things I’m excited about:

  • pumpkin apple muffins: my sister-in-law’s recipe and they are SO good (email me if you want the recipe: mirandakatemixon@gmail.com)
  • make your own breakfast sandwich!!! another one we got from my in-laws. Bagels (toasted) + breakfast sausage patties + overeasy eggs + hash brown patties from Aldi = instant family fave
  • lamps!!! we’re slowly making improvements to our little home. Last week we finally installed some wall lamps in our bedroom. It looks so much cozier.
  • pantry organization: I tend to organize in spurts and last week it was the pantry. It looks and feels so much better every time I walk in there. Plus it’s so easy to find things!

That’s it for me today!

Peace,

Miranda
