This week has been a weird one. We got back from Cincinnati Monday morning and Stephen had the rest of the day off. We realized late in the day that Monica was getting sick. She had a little fever and runny nose for the next day or so. Then on Tuesday I started getting a sore throat.
I also got a terrible stomachache yesterday that has continued to a lesser degree until today.
Needless to say we have not been super productive. On the bright side, we did discover that Monica finds it hilarious when I blow my nose.
I love being a mom.

Here is what has been resonating with me recently:
- it is ok (and good and healthy) to say ‘no’ to some requests/opportunities/offers
- keeping a (at least MOSTLY) orderly house is life-giving
- you don’t have to entertain your children
- comparison kills (hearts and souls)
- difficulty/suffering foster growth
Currently working on:
- getting to daily Mass a few minutes early
- saying my morning prayers first thing (one is by my bed and the other is over my coffee maker)
- considering where my time is best spent
- not comparing not comparing not comparing (NOT COMPARING)
- embracing the hard things

Where I’ve found encouragement these days:
- This podcast from Art of Manliness
- This Instagram account
- This podcast from Jen Fulwiler
- This podcast from Fit Mom Life to the Fullest
- Watching my plants grow
- Monica’s laugh
- Tina the life coach
- My mom
What I’m considering:
- Work pivot
- Painting my living spaces this color
- Acupuncture for stomach aches?
- Taking tennis lessons??
Anyway, another short post because I need to put a *certain someone* down for bed soon and because my stomach is still hurting.

I really like this format. Thanks for the shoutout. I am so sorry about your tummy!! Have you tried a bubble bath?
