One of my favorite songs I like to reflect on every now and then.
She’s just too much but she’s not quite enough
She’s a little too hot but she’s too cold to touch
He’s told her himself with his dying eyes.
She brings him joy but she makes him so mad
With a childlike poise she unravels his plans
And it bothers him when her eyes are down.
And he’ll come not quite close enough
And he’ll run not quite fast enough
And when it’s done she still won’t feel loved.
She’s builds up walls to see if he’ll take them down
She’ll let him fall to see if he’s too proud to ask for help
As he’s there on the ground.
He speaks her name and it brings her to life
Then she feels afraid and her mouth’s like a knife
She can’t be held, but God knows he tried.
And he’ll come not quite close enough
And he’ll run not quite fast enough
And when it’s done she still won’t feel loved.
Such a tiny frame for such a heavy heart
She’s politely blamed and he politely departs.
Is anyone unafraid of the dark?
She moves with holy desire
She wants love whole and entire
She moves with holy desire
But she won’t be filled until Zion.
